Completion of a recognized First Aid & CPR course is mandatory for all IKO instructors, ensuring you can handle emergencies on and off the water. These essential skills are internationally recognized and valuable in any setting, from sports to daily life.
Assistant Training Course (ATC)
Enrollment in the IKO Assistant Training Course is the essential first step on the professional teaching path.
This five-day program, combining theory and in-water practice, develops foundational teaching skills, equipment handling, and safety protocols. It is required before qualifying for the Instructor Training Course.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have solid kiteboarding skills (IKO Level 4 or equivalent).
Instructor Training Course (ITC)
The IKO Instructor Training Course is a five-day intensive certification designed for advanced kiters ready to teach independently.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, certified as Assistant Instructors, hold a valid first aid/CPR certificate, and demonstrate strong riding proficiency (IKO Level 4).
The course covers teaching methodology, risk management, student assessment, and ensures graduates meet the international standard for kitesurf instruction.
